Re: 4-C-4677 HHi vs. McLaren Auto Supply Store Accident 9/4/40 Dear Dr. Kehoe: lie have Just this momentbeen advised by our attorney, Mr. George H. Betweiler, that the case of 4BHHHPvs. McLaren Auto Supply Store has been set for a final hearing before Referee-Enterline, at 406 Schuylkill Trust Building, Pottsville. Pa., on Wednesday/jCctober 1, 194i7~'a^ 1:30 P. M., E. S. T. Tou will probably recall that this was the case in which we requested assistance of the Ethyl Corporation in our defense, in view of the fact that this man, Raber, was alleging lead poisoning, the allegation also being that the condition came about through contact with gasoline containing lead. In your letter of September 3, 1941, you expressed considerable interest in the opinion and testimony of Dr. Steinbilber. For certain reasons, we did not have the man re-examined try Dr. Steinhilber and as a result were unable to give you any further information along that line. Our attorney feels that it is imperative that we have someone present at the ' hearing who is qualified to testify concerning gasoline, both as to its lead content and the effect of such gasoline on the human body. Mr. Detweiler would like to have the opportunity to talk to this party before the hearing and sug gested 12:00 noon at Referee Enterline's office. lie would thank you to advise us whom we can contact for this purpose. Our New fork representatives have already contacted the main office of the Ethyl Corpora tion, who have referred us back to you for this information. 4/\rtWUm^Hiitimtce (j/icup 4--C-4677 2- - 9/25/41 An immediate reply vri.ll be greatly appreciated, and, if necessary, you may Yfire us collect.
