It appears to work with petroleum oil in water and will be checked with Aroclor 1242. The method is filtration of the stream through sand which is treated (by the Vapocoupling process) to have an organophilic surface. The oil or fluid is released from the sand by raising the pH. The organophilic nature of the sand is restored by lowering the pH.
