Diamond Shamrock has also surveyed die health status of employes who have left the company, as well as studying records of retired and deceased employes, and again found no evidence of angiosarcoma. In June, 1973, Diamond Shamrock embarked upon a thorough program of carefully monitoring VCM vapors and reduction of these to lower levels within its own manufacturing operations. At the same time, the company also began a $1.8 million program at its Deer Park., Texas, plant to reduce atmospheric emissions of VMC to the lowest levels technically feasible.
