MODELS WIIHQ~T ASBESTOS Afromatic Styler, Model LB4000 (imported through December 1978) Approximately 10% of the total number imported contain asbestos in the nozzle. \ Afro will remove the asbestos liner in stylers which are in working condition when mailed to the fIrm. If repair is impossible, the company will replace the styler with a unit containing no asbestos. Both replacement of the asbestos liner or replacement of the styler will be free of expense to the consumer. Consumers must first write the company and obtain a Ist class mailing label in order to cover the cost of mailing in the styler. Arrow retrofitted units in retailers' inventories with mica. The box of a dryer retrofitted with mica is marked: "No Asbestos." GE discontinued shipping hair dryers with asbestos insulation. GE will either retrofit with a nonasbestos liner GE hair dryers which are asbestos insulated or replace them with a suitable one after they are brought to their small appliance service locations by concerned consumers. Units must be in good working to be replaced. If consumer first contacts GE and then sends dryer to a designated service center, consumer will be reimbursed for postage.
