DESIGN PARAMETERS
po'ide a system to separate solid waste from liquid organic waste.
Liquid will be processed thru the existing API separator and steam stripping si :m and solids, as a slurry, will be sent to an approved hazardous waste disposal kite.
BASIC DATA
Liquid waste and water into the classifier system.
T. Liquid waste from Organics Plant
2. Water used in washing waste handling equipment
3. Wei! water used as seals
4. Rain water handled thru
system
183,000 Gal/mo. 350,400 Gal/mo. 305,800 Gol/mo,
10,400 Gol/mo.
TOTAL
849,600 Gal/mo.
.8 Flow from the Classifier
1. Liquid to API separator 2. Waste to land fill
833,700 Gal/mo. 15,900 Gal/mo.
TOTAL
849,600 Gal/mo.
C. Maximum Input rate will be a 2000 gallon truck dumping into the classifier in twenty (TO) minutes or 200 gallons per minute.
Design classifier to allow for solids settling at a 200 GPM thru-put.

FeC!3 from tank cleaning will be transferred into th classifiers and then dissolved, using water, and sent to the API separator and thence to the plant outfall via the steam stripping system. Approximately 2000 pounds per day of Fed3 will be processed thru the classifier. This quantity is included in the 183,000 gallon/month liquid waste number. Vent Stream The composition of the vent from the classifier is not completely known at this time, and will not be until classifiers are in operation and test can be made of the classifier vent. A vent scrubber will be installed to remove HCL fumes and will be designed to handle 8000 SCFH of nitrogen containing 3% HCL. This scrubber may remove some organics but the unit will have to be in operation before this is known. A compressor system to compress vent gases and send them to the incinerators may have to be installed in the future.
