It was his impression that, after a period that we experienced, where PPG*a results were not correlating well with ours (particularly with respect to butadiene content), we were back in correlation. If this is incorrect, please let me know, so that I can get back at him on the subject. I told him that it had appeared to me that the correlation was pretty good up to the point where the butadiene content started to exceed the specification maximum of 10 ppm. At that point, it looked as if the needle on their machine had gotten stuck, and couldn't read over 10 -- in which case, perhaps a little oil was needed on the bearing, or something. 2. During the month of_August, PPG is scheduled to supply us with 3M lbs. of VCM. They plan to cover a large part, if not all, of this with VCM from Ethyl Corporation. Moulton asked if this was alright from the technical standpoint, and I said, "Yes, we have bad good experience with ethyl VCM." I asked that we be notified in advance of shipment which cars were from Ethyl -- if we do get any significant amount of ethyl VCM, it will be an excellent opportunity to compar our recent plant performance (particularly with our DHW/80 dispersion resins) with what is attainable with good VCM. , M.
