SECTION 4 The premium for such bond will be paid by the Subcontractor and shall be included in the bid price; shall read: The premium for such a bond, if required will be paid by others and should not be included in lump sum bid. Additional Instructions 8.1 Existing turnouts to be replaced or relocated will be con sidered new turnouts for bid purposes. 8.2 Installation of trackwork for bid purpose is outlined in Section TT - New Track and Turnout List. 8.3 The Subcontractor will install ties and track at 1 road crossings. 8.4 Installation No. 10 Turnout and Trestle Track instructions: 8.4.1 Removal of existing trestle timbers and rail by others. 8.4*2 Trestle structural steel, trestle walkway and handrailing will be erected prior to Subcontractors work schedule. 8.4.3 All ties will be dapped and predrilled before delivery U at jobsite. Tie spacing bars (^" x 4" flat) will be predrilled. 8.4.4 It will be required to install No. 10 Tunrout in four (4) working days, 8 hour/day as existing trestle track will be shut down. McGCon 3433 8.4*5 Base bid will include laborers installing ties for No. 10 Turnout and Trestle Track up to the concrete abutment. Other trades will be considered extra. 8.4*6 Indicate amount to delete from lump sum if No. 10 Turnout and Trestle Track is deleted from base bid. 3. AGREEMENT. PACE A-2. ARTICLE 4.C. FOLLOWING SHALL BE ADDEDf Basis for Payment of Track: Application for payment of work shall be broken down as follows: 25% - ballast spread/ton 25% - quantity ties in place/tie 35% - spiking track and bolt-up/lineal foot 15% - final ballast and lift/lineal foot Percentages prorated per quoted price/per lineal foot track installed. Following shall be added: 2.5 Switch stand protection will be installed by others. 2.6 Installation of steel flangeway at road crossings(Reference Drawing 547463, Revision "G") Page SC-2. Section 4.0. Materials to be Furnished by Armco Steel Corp. Subsection A.l.h; Following shall be deleted: Armco will furnish locomotive service with crew for spreading ballast and switching. Cars from American Materials to jobsite at a rental rate - SEVENTY DOLLARS ($70.00) per hour - paid by the Subcontractor to Armco Steel Corporation. Following shall be added: Armco will provide ballast at construction site as directed by Subcontractor. Deliveries will be made by railroad car or truck. 4.2 New track material for interchange yard will be stored in areas as indicated at jobsite inspection, January 6, 1975. Page SC-2. Section 5.0. Installation, Subsection 5.3. Walkway: Following shall be added: Construction of walkways on Armco Project 7226 is as follows Walkways constructed with ballast material to be topped-off (or "choked") with slag fines,5" and under, furnished and delivered to jobsite by Armco. Walkways on outside of curves will not be dressed. Page SC-5. Subsection 5.11. Application of Ballast* Shall read: The ballasting of the track shall be accomplished by one (l) application of ballast and lift. The track shall be lifted to final grade. On the outside of all curves, ballast naterial shall be extended 4'-3" beyond the end of ties to prevent lateral move ment of tracks. Addendum 2 - Page - 3 ttcGCon Page SC-5. Subsection 5.12. Tanning Ballast; All ballast lifts except the final one nay be shovel-tanped. Shall read: All ballast lifts will be machine tamped. ^ Page SC-5. Subsection 5.13. Final Lift and Surfacing; Shall read; ' Subcontractor will apply ballast and make one (l) lift to grade. Additional track lifting by others. The track shall be placed in good alignment before the lift is made. The lift shall be made by Jacking the track to grade provided for by the grade stakes. The ballast shall then be applied under the ties for their entire length and thoroughly driven in place for a distance extending from IS" inside either rail to the ends of the ties by tamping machines. The ballast under the remainder of the tie bearing shall not be tamped. Page SC-6. Subsection 5.14. Final Linirp;; shall be deleted. Page SC-6. Section 8.0.
