'fie have completed the analyses of the samples frora the Texas Company at Lockport, Illinois, sent to us by Ben Crane and the: : results are quito high. All of the samples show evidence of marked contamination with : litharge,^ the total lead content being 1 above 2G and the organic and presumably volatile lead content is also quite high. In view of Crane's statement as to ! likelihood of draw-off of sludge in barge! j loading, this will furnish us with a Ij partial explanation at least as to the source of the lead in the Cleveland tanks.! !
