In the latter case, the occupational physician can benefit from the assistan ce of the w ell qualified industrial hygienist, whose background and experience should perm it him either to personally perform the m easures and design the controls needed or to be able to advise how best to proceed. IHF has prepared a special Annual M eeting program (enclosed) designed to help stru ctu re an - 2- extensive m em bership drive and also, through the public relations d ep art m ents of its m em bers, to develop such extensive coverage of all m edia that by the y ear's end, the m ajority of our citizens and all those in the health professions should be aw are of th eir debt to Industrial Hygiene and share our confidence in the future capabilities of this dynam ic field to help advance em ployee and public health to the m axim um practical degree, reaching far beyond all m inim um standard requirem ents of the law, 2. F a s s e tt, M, D. , be appointed to the C ouncil, and (2) th a t the C ouncil, including D r. F assett, consider w hether or not the incom ing P resident, D r. G erald D. Dorm an, should w rite a letter expressing the A m erican M edical A ssociation's endorsem ent of the im portance of Industrial Hygiene to our nation's health and w elfare.
