Smith August 19,1997 VCM Level Using Dual Pressure Transmitters The attached calculation sheets include the calculations and assumptions for determining the level in the New Module Fresh VCM Receiver DM-999 and the Sphere PV-001 using pressure transmitters. One ofthe pressure transmitters is located on the bottom ofthe vessel and the other in the vapor space at the top ofthe vessel. Three equations are included. Equation 1 may be used to calculate the level of VCM, in feet, at 70F using dual pressure transmitters. Equation 2 is an estimate of VCM density as a function oftemperature. Equation 3 may be used to calculate the level ofVCM, in feet, at any temperaturebetween -22F to 122F using dual pressure transmitters and a temperature measurement. Also attached is information regarding the current method for determining VCM Receiver level. Erik Smith Project Engineer Distribution: ACW, JRH, TRM, DEK, File 2.50.0 attachments
