Dunnigan, dated 9/18/84 d) Letter from AIA/NA and attachments regarding encap sulated asbestos and risk of liability The meeting was only with Dave Clark; David Michael was unable to attend. Dave gave me background on "Stop-It" (I didn't know Lowell Comstock developed the product and they bought it from UCC). Their main concern is their employees (they have only one who handles "Calidria"). 1 explained that UCC would be sued by their employees, not M-W. They are evaluating a new product using attapuigite to replace asbestos and it will have been in place three months at the end of November. They do not label cans as containing asbestos, but he is concerned that they may be requested for an MSDS and have to name asbestos as an ingredient. He will ask for help to prepare an MSDS if they stay with asbestos. I noted that attapuigite ex posure has shown some symptoms similar to asbestos - see Dunnigan's paper. He appreciated all the information I left and thinks that it will solve the "problem" with the M-W board of directors.
