Majewski Environmental Scientist Air Pollution Control (419) 352-8461 Re: Paulding County NESHAPS Violation CERTIFIED MAIL Corporate President Maremont Corporation, Inc. 311 Plus Park Boulevard Nashville, Tennessee 37217 October 20, 1983 Dear Sir: On July 5, 1983,. our office received a complaint concerning an asbestos material waste dump site located on the property of the NUTURN Company in Paulding Ohio. Records obtained from the County Tax Office indicate Maremont Corporation to be the owner of the property mentioned above. Upon investigation of the dump site by personnel from this office, small open piles of asbestos were observed along with deposits of grey sediment in the drainage ditch. The dumping of asbestos in an unapproved site without proper containment and public warning is a violation of the National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants. Please refer to the "National Emission Standards for Asbestos" as to the proper methods of disposing, containment and handling of asbestos. You are also hereby advised to respond to this letter by no later than November 4, 1983, as to what course of action the Maremont Corporation plans to take concerning this matter.
