Xehoe wrote you in my absence regarding the Installation at Balti more. After talking to Dr. Sanders it appears that there are a number of points that are not in 100$ order. At Neodesha they have put in. a new mixing and storage platform, and Dr. Sanders reports that the concrete on the mixing platform is very' rough and uneven, having crevices as much as one and one half inch deep. He felt that if at any time there was a spill it would be impossible for the Ethyl Fluid to reach the drain, as the crevices would hold most of it, and no doubt a great -amount would seep into the rough concrete. At Cushing the installation is O.K., but no lockers have been provided for the men. At Eldorado (Eldorado Pipe Line Co) there is no platform* There is a pipe runway down to two concrete pillars on which the drum rests, and any drip would go directly onto the ground. At Shreveport (Shreveport-Eldorado Pipe Line Co.) the entire place was very dirty, and it appears that the dye is being mixed in the wash room. Dr. Sanders reports that there is dye all over the walls, floor, and even the ceiling. At Cleveland, Oklahoma (Johnson Oil) Dr. Sanders found the same type of installation as at Eldorado, and he also reports that the man at this point is not using his gas mask at any time. He straightened out this matter with the superintendent HE 0000645 of the refinery, and was assured that in the future the man would use the mask. While none of these complaints are serious, with the exception of Eldorado and Cleve land, I wish that you would kindly drop the district managers at these various points a line and ask them to straighten up these matters immediately. There has been a question in my mind since you have been promoted to assistant sales mana ger, whether or not I should write you regarding these complaints, or take them up directly with Mr. Mittnacht If you will advise me as to how you want this handled in the future I will be glad to take It up with whom ever you suggest.
