with thanks receipt of of a minute from Dr. King
your de-
This minute has been carefully perused with great
.
interest by our technical officers and it appears that we will have to
watch this problem closely with the assistance and operation of the
K Commonwealth Health Laboratory
-
Incidentally Dr. King refers throughout his minute to chrysotile asbestos only which is a hydrated silicate of magnesia whereas our greatest problem at the moment is with crocidolite which is a silicate of iron and soda It is however very similar to chrysotile
in its fibrous nature and it is presumed that continued inhalation of the
dust would result in the same lung condition as with chrysotile
