/ rTrnhe asbestos screening program for active employees has been in operation since October, 1980. The pensioner program was implemented
May, 1981. Both programs have been well received and we anticipate they will provide a valuable contribution to our occupational medicine program.
However, our data base thus far is inadequate in terms of the number of employees and pensioners examined and the results of x-ray and pulmonary evaluation.
Each location is requested to complete the attached form for both . - employees and pensioners and return to this office bv September 18. 1981.
This form is in addition to the request for information dated August'S, iysi on the Pensioner Asbestos Screening Program. Both requests must be completed and returned.
This report should include the following categories
Number of employees and pensioners examined.
Number of employees and pensioners found to have possible
asbestos-related abnormalities.
Number of employees and pensioners referred to their private
physicians.
Number of employees and pensioners referred to a pulmonary
specialist for evaluation.
Number of employees and pensioners diagnosed as benign
asymptomatic.
Number of employees and pensioners diagnosed as malignant
illness.
Number of employees and pensioners with abnormalities not
asbestos-related.
