The report summarizes testing to evaluate eight asbestos-free materials for use as weld curtains and protective blankets, based on resistance to abrasion and weld spatter, flexibility and cost. Testing of wetted materials is included. "Alpha-Alaflex", a fiberglass cloth coated with "Hypalon" was found to be the best choice for both weld curtains and protective blankets.
