I am fully aware of the schedule which has been set for the delivery of manuscripts in preparation for the meeting in New York and I've been working toward that end for some time, I hope to be able to meet the dead-line but I have not been able to avoid other obligations, and I may be a few days late. 1 shall make every effort to avoid such a delay. It is unfortunate, of course, that such a schedule is set up on a hard and fast basis so far in advance of a meeting. It represents a mandate which intrudes upon one's every other duty, even those which, in the nature of a professional man's life, must be given priority, and greatly upsets the orderly progress of the day's work.
