Last Thursday, June 15, the EPA Steering Committee met In Washington for the purpose of considering and accepting proposed standards for the use of asbestos, mercury, and beryllium. In anticipation of that meeting, Bruce Williams and I have met with the EPA people responsible for writing the standards (Durham, N.C.) and for enforcing them (Rockville, Maryland). In addition we have written to Che Acting Assistant Administrator for Air and Water Programs (Washington D.
