Mazurek - Senior Design Engineer COMMENTS Their program, at the moment, is to maintain an uncoordinated posture with the Buick Motor Division who is coordinating brakes for the corporation. Cadillac continues to insist on going in its,?wn direction. Mainly, it appears the corporate released lining would not be acceptable to the typical Cadillac customer and they have data to prove it. As such* they don't plan to release non-asbestos disc brake materials by 1983. They plan to continue with their presently released materials for 1980 and 1981 model years. On the four-wheel disc, they have run the Buick released materials for 1980/ these being Bendix 7163 and 7161A fronts and find them lacking in performance noise. On drum brakes, there will be no Inlite lining used on the major portions of the vehicles released in the next two years. Abex is released for 1980 and Cor 1981. On drum brakes, they considered non asbestos linings as a look-see item. Not much interest. The DelcoMoraine material 9015 has been here for six months and no tests.
