Washington, D.C. 20037 Dear Mr. Zercher: There seems to have been a communication lapse between General Tire and CMA, It was my understanding that we bad not renewed our letter of intent to provide an emergency response team. After the conference in Washington in mid-April of 1980, General Tire decided it could not effectively respond to an emergency with a trained crew to handle emergency transportation problems. We have not set up a response crew and we do not have the capability to provide this service. This letter is to advise you that General Tire is not a participant in the VCM program and request you to withdraw our name from the organiza tions providing a response team.
