Pedder Owens Corning Owens Corning Jchns-ttanville meeting was held in conjunction with the offieid luncheon et the Annuel Industrial Hygiene Foundation Meeting. Mr. Sheckler reported s bed press in Hew Jersey in regard to the relationship of asbestos exposure end mesothelioma. In bis opinion, this had cede it even sore urgent for his Education Subcocmlttee to develop the second round Educa tional Program for the IDCKA. As part of this program, a pamphlet is being prepared on the safe of insulation materials. Target dates given by Mr. Sheckler for the Education Subcommittee's activities included a February 1, I968 consideration of the entire program by the Occupational Health & Safety Committee. The find program must be reedy for presentation at the Regional DCEA meetings by April 1, 1968. On the subject of possible recommendations in regard to pre-employment end periodic medied examinations for the insula tion workers, Mr. Sheckler requested that Hr. Grant provide his Subcommittee with a recomendation in regard to examination content. Mr. Sheckler reported his meeting with Dr. I. J. Selitetf at which time be briefly discussed the HD& Educetiond Program. . Dr. Grant reiterated his pre viously expressed opinion that the Ccmrittee -coordinate the Educational Pro gram in preparation with Dr* V. C* Cooper to minimize so far ss possible con flicting advice being provided by our group and Dr. Cooper's group. Hhile at the time at meeting no information was available in regard to the present status of the U. S. Public Hedth Service ninerd fiber industry study. Dr. Grant briefly met with Dr. lewis Crelley of the D. S. Public Hedth Service following the meeting. Dr. Cralley indicated he would be contacting various member industries in JUKI to establish the cohorts for the O.S.P.H.S. Records Study of the minerd fiber industry. The question of establishing nptfagr Subcommittee of. the Occupational Health 4 Safety Cozmittce was railed by Mr. Sheckler.
