Dear Mr. Busey:
The Chemical Manufacturers Association ("CMA") has been named as a defendant in a lawsuit concerning
the health effects of vinyl chloride. As part of that lawsuit, the plaintiffs have demanded in discovery that
CMA retrieve certain CMA documents that may be in the possession of certain listed contractors, including
your organization, and thereafter produce such documents to the plaintiff.

The documents that plaintiffs are seeking are described in two subpoenas, copies of which are enclosed. I have also enclosed a memorandum summarizing the categories of subpoenaed documents. The memorandum is provided for your convenience; the subpoenas are the controlling documents.

This letter constitutes a request that Experimental Pathology Labs, Inc. make available to CMA and its lawyers any and all documents generated in connection with any work that your organization has done for CMA (which was formerly known as the Manufacturing Chemists Association or MCA) that are responsive to the enclosed subpoenas. Please contact me as soon as possible to make the arrangements necessary for our review of any such documents. My telephone number is 703-741-5120. We need to produce any such documents to die plaintiffs by September 26, 1997.
