PURPOSE OF THE MEETUP
The Asbestos Textilea Industry Advisory Committee met on April 12, C ?^5 to dlaouae (1) Labor problems, particularly the effaot of Seleotlve Service on tho industry, and assistance received from local government organisations;
(2) Production of aaheetoa textiles, tad mocauroo whereby increased production of more orltloal materiola oan be obtained; end (5) Proaent supply nnd Inventory pooltloa on aabeatoa fibres, Mr, W.|T, Meloy of the Cork, Asbestos and Fibrous Glass Division of War Production Board served as tho presiding offloer.

The suggestion was made., that another Flying Squardron, organized for the
same purpose and operating in the sane manner as the one last year, be sent
out to visit the various asbestos textile plants throughout the country to
boost the morale of the workers, and ve*emphcsize the importance of asbestos
textiles to the war effort. All the plants previously visited reported excel
lent response to the last Flying Squadron, but it wee felt that another one
would beBsneflclal.
: . Tho members of the armed services present at the meeting were questioned
about the future of the asbestos textile Industry efter VE-Day. It was generally
agreed that-equipment to be cut back would hevo no relation, to the asbestos

had boon mode lest year to get the asbestos textile progrm on the "Must" list.
