The Aluminum Association represents the United States aluminum value chain - from primary producers, to recyclers, to fabricators, and their suppliers - as well as the vast majority of U.S. aluminum production and 161,000 direct U.S. aluminum jobs at facilities in 35 states. Aluminum is a key element of the nation's manufacturing base, supporting 713,000 total jobs, and $186 billion in economic output -- approximately I% of GDP. Our industry is seeing historic domestic demand for aluminum-- particularly in the transportation sector, and investing in manufacturing jobs to meet the demand. Your unique perspective on the Administration's approach to strategic policies that both ensure environmental protection and promote economic growth will provide great insight to our industry leadership.
