Interoffic Communication To Plant Managers From Date Tom Grumbles July 12, 1982 Subject TOXIC SUBSTANCES CONTROL ACT, SECTION 8(a) TSCA Section 8(a), effective July 22, requires manufacturers to report on 250 chemicals listed as part of the regulation. If any chemical on the list is produced at a plant site, a Preliminary Assessment Information form must be completed and returned to EPA by November 19. A copy of the regulation and forms is enclosed. EPA is to send forms to plant sites. When you receive the forms, contact me for assistance in completing them. We need to assure consistency and have legal review of the completed forms before returning them to EPA. The Technical Services Lab is currently reviewing the list of chemicals to * determine which plants are affected. At this time you should do the same at your plant.
