Subject- Blood Monitoring at Villers St. Paul
Rozemarijn, I enjoyed speaking with you this morning. I appreciate your willingness to assist us in getting some more information about the PFOA blood monitoring at our former Atofina tolomcrs manufacturing site. Attached is a note from the Atofina Medical Director, Dr. Mery, to Daniel Bechadfirgue, our plant manager, relative to the upcoming monitoring campaign which they hare planned. We would Like more information before we agree to participate.
As I mentioned, our analytical cheiqjnts have made contact with the laboratory! WKKtlIKIKltinL 1'hoy are discussing the analytical method (PFOA is gas chroraatography/mass spec/mass speclPrtnd its detection/quantiation limits. The lab suggested that they can also analyze the samples by LC/MS/MS if PF0S is analyzed concurrently. Their preliminary discussions with the lab haye found that the the detection limit of the method is 3 ug/1 and the limit of quantitation is 10 ug/1. If you have any information about this laboratory in terms of reputation or quality assurance, that would be helpful. After I spoke to you, I learned that our chemists will be attending a meeting in Germany during the last week of April and are trying to make arrangements to visit the lab on April 29.
Here is the information we have received to date about, the first round .of sampl ing.

We'd like to know: 'what job assignments were represented by the initial monitoring? (both the exposed and the non-exposed group) number of years each worker has been in job calibration range of the analytical method (the lab told us the limit of quantitation is 10 yet it appears that they have reported a result of 5) if possible, actual results (without names, by job assignment if possible) for the workers sampled by what date would they need a decision from us about whether to partiepate in the next campaign
* We'd appreciate your guidance on whether or not we should participate in the next sampling campaign? Thanks! Barbara
