Kehoe College of Medicine University of Cincinnati Cincinnati, Ohio ' Dear Doctor Kehoe: In the future you will receive several letters regarding next year's meeting of the Section on Preventive and Industrial Medicine and Public Health. Such letters will be more or less general in their content and their purpose will be readily understood when you receive them. This letter, however, makes a specific request. ^ Next June at Atlantic City the A. M. A. will hold a Centennial Celebration and the aim of those in charge is to make this the greatest medical assembly ever held. To this end many foreign and American distinguished guests are to be in vited. It has been requested of each Section that it invite an eminent American1 to bead a historical paper on ythe history and progress of that particular section. Since industrial medicine includes preventive7medicine and many aspects of public health, our guests should be those who haye achieved a position of prominence in this field. . As secretary in charge of arranging the program I could invite whomsoever I feel deserves this honor, but this I refuse to do. My choice might be influenced by personal ' factors. It seems to me that the only logical manner of a r riving at a decision would be to take a vote of you who are competent to express a choice. For that reason I am writing to you to ask you to nominate an individual whom you feel deserves such an honor. Even at this early date a number of the other Sections have made their choice. It is necessary that I sub mit the choice of our Section soon. For that reason will you please think this over and then write me your choice within a short time? Sincerely, F.Tj/ldS' 2. T. JOHNSTONE, M. D N22165 p. Because I consider their experience and judgment superior to others this letter is being sent to the P.amazz; .ans O^oonly. Don *t fail m e , 0705
