A The report Tor the Air Hygiene Committee was presented by G. 0.

Febel, a member of this committee, in the absence of Mr. Luttenberger. who could not attend the General meeting;, i'cabers were advised that a nee ting of this committee was hold on Juno 19, under the Chairmanship of- Mr* B. V/. Luttenberger and at that lime a revised program of work for the group was outlined* The Chairman in. 11, in the near future, submit to each member company a quelltionnaire which, will serve to provide tlfc committee with pertinent information tliat may be used to implement the current program of work being undertaken by this group. Several new hygienic problems now confront the asbestos tortile industry and, in recognition of these conditions, this committee earnestly seeks the full cooperation of all. members so that full considera tion can bo given those matters.

Harris, Chairman of that 'Committee, and this report is herewith

a) Fellowship Report--Temperature Limits for As bostos Textiles. It was unanimously agreed that, ell publicity in con nection with the information set forth in tills, report should be vitlihcld until further test *.;ork has been, couple-ted. Upon comple tion of this report to the satisfaction of the Technical Committee
and the Sales Promotion Committee, the latter committee. v;i11 establish the procedure to be followed in publicizing this worl:.
b) Tudeer-Dodee Reports.--The information included in the tv;o subject reports is to be used in the preparation of a hand book. As a first step in 'this preparation, the Chairman of the Gales Pro notion Committee was authorized to set up this informa tion so that it nay be nimecyra piled and initially distributed fer General use. Tills material in this form is then to be revised and fur idler edited prior to its' incorporation in a hand be ole,
c) Visual Aid Displays. During the discussion concerning the placement of our visual aid displays it was recommended that, since we now have members in Canada, attention should be directed toward the placement of displays in that country. IIcGill University and the University of Toronto have been contacted in this regard and it was suGsested that Laval University and the University of Hontrcal also be approached.

First, the -moric covcrinG studies of temperature limits for asbestos textiles shall be given priority over all other vork and should be couple ted as quickly as possible- Also to be included as a part of this vork to be completed as quickly as possible is the heat aging test as related
to V.:cstinghousc and certain Federal Gpcc5.fi cat ions . Secondly, further consideration by the Feller; rale ted to aluminum clad asbestos textiles shall cease until the Sales Promotion Commit tee and other members have had an opportunity to investigate and evaluate the importance of this development.
Following this discussion the Fellov/ship program as pre sented vmith the above revisions uas accepted upon the motion by D. Yi. \7idmayor, "seconded by G. S. label and unanimously agreed upon.

Temperature Li nits forf Asbestos Textiles, 0 Heat'Aging Tests, 3)-Alurinun Clad Asbestos textiles, /-) Asbestos Tape as a Pipe Lagging Material and 5) Glass Asbestos Combination Textiles. Following a discus sion of the subjects presented it was novel by C-. 3. Fabel, seconded by A. J Secular, end unanimously agreed that the report be approved.
Subjects of old business were next presented for consideration.

b) A copy of tlio first report prepared by the Secretary
covering abstracts oC '.Literature pertinent to the asbestos tex
tile industry was discussed by the President. This work was
carried out in accordance with instructions received at the last
i
nee ting and it v;as felt that this first presentation, was of suffi
cient interest to warrant its continuation. The Secretary was
. instructed to endeavor to continue this service and present addi
tional reports during the ensuing quarter.
9. Subjects of new business were next presented for consideration,
a) The fall meeting of the Institute is tentatively
scheduled 'co be held in Her/ York City on October End A 15rd.
Alternate dates of September 25th and 26th or October 9th and
10th were approved for meeting dates if the dates first selected
do net :.;cet with full approval. This meeting is to be scheduled
for two days with all commit tees and the Board of Governors
meeting on the first day and the General nee ting being held on
October ord. It was agreed that the General meeting should be
keyed to the Associate members and the program so designed to
give this group a special recognition. For this occasion, the

President will endeavor to have hr. A. L, Pcnhalo, President of
Asbestos Corporation, present the main address for the meeting.
b) Since the next meeting will be the occasion for the
election of officers ana Board of Governors for the ensuing year,
President Ciyor appointed the following members to serve on the
nominating committee for these elections:

Hr. Carl Binduan, Johnson's Co., Ltd., addressee the group
regarding his recent visit to Japan where he had an opportunity
ter observe the asbestos textile industry as it is prorrassinG
in that country. In addition, he- briefly reviewed the spinnablc
fiber situation which prevails today in Canada. He indicated
that in spite of the sreat increase in total tonnage of asbestos
produced in Canada,, the immediate prospects of increases in
spinning fiber arc not very bright. Hr. 3indnan, in closing his
remarks, expressed his company's pleasure upon now being associ
ated with the Institute and offered full cooperation in the
continuation and extension of the many projects in which the
Institute is nov: engaged.
Mr, J. A. Dr liar cot tc eddressed the tic c ting with, cor.-pli- .
nentary remarks regarding the service the Institute is providing
the asbestos textile industry end expressed appreciation for the
opportunity the Institute has afforded his company, through the
Associate membership, to assist and cooperate in carrying out
this work.
