Bruce and I spoke with Dr. Wong today and we will proceed with a contract extension for Fudan University to cover services for the case-control study. The contract extension will be in English, hopefully that will be sufficient for Fudan University. We need to change the budget you proposed to only apply inflation adjustments (5%) and University overhead (15%) to the labor category. Direct expenses in support of the study (office supplies, telephone charges, transportation, etc.) are paid only on actual costs. However, if the University adds additional fees onto purchases you make, those fees are part of the directs costs and should be indicated on your expense report. A receipt must be provided if individual expenses are over 75 $US. I have attached a budget sheet which makes those changes and also allows for possible travel to the USA in 2008. Please let me know if these changes are acceptable to you. As we work through the details of the contract extension, we should also review the work that was done in 2006. API has not received an invoice from Fudan for that time period. Let's do that after we have the 2007 and 2008 budget proposal finished. API requests that Fudan University invoice API at least on a quarterly basis. If you can invoice on a monthly basis, that would be better. Please copy Dr. Otto Wong on invoices as he is the person receiving the direct benefit of the work. Bruce and I will work with you and Dr. Wong to finalize a contract extension.
