Sanborn visited the Demco Oil and Gas Company, LLC oil and gas facility located near Newkirk, Oklahoma on 01/08/2020 for an unannounced inspection. There were no representatives of Demco Oil and Gas Company, LLC present for the inspection. The inspection was conducted by authority of the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act to determine compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations. FACILITY DESCRIPTION This facility is known as the Miller Tank Battery. Section II - OBSERVATIONS I observed a secondary containment pit with fluids, including produced water, seeping out of the base of the containment berms and flowing to the county road ditch. A brine pump within the tank battery area was leaking and fluids were being released from the secondary containment area. I observed the nearby creek, south of the tank battery, and it was dry during the inspection. Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN The brine pump was leaking fluids and the secondary containment area was seeping fluids that were flowing off site towards a nearby creek.
