Dr. R. Emmet Kelly Medical Director Monsanto Chemical Company 75 Rust Building Washington 5> 0. C.
Dear Dr. Kelly:
We have your letter of January 19 regarding the acceptability of your product, danticizer l4l (2-ethylhexyl diphenyl phosphate) as a plasticizer for synthetic plastic films used for packaging meat and meat product.
On the basis of results of animal feeding studies and extraction studies synthetic plastic films plasticized with Santicizer l4l are acceptable for contact with product prepared in establishments operating under Federal meat inspection.
We have no objection to the use of the words "accepted by the Meat Inspection Division of the Bureau of Animal Industry" or similar phrase in your advertising and technical bulletins.
Very truly yours.
