Atlanta, Georgia 30309 Inspection Date: June 12, 2024 3601679010 LAT: 33.7871 LON: -84.3874 Inspection Type Clean Air Act (CAA) National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants (NESHAP) - Asbestos Inspectors Pamela Storm Introduction An inspection pursuant to Section 114 of the CAA was conducted on June 12, 2024, at 1201 West Peachtree Street, Northwest, in Atlanta, Georgia 30309 (the Facility). The unannounced inspection was conducted by Pamela Storm and Tony Spann who possess EPA inspector credentials to conduct CAA NESHAP asbestos inspections. The inspectors discovered that renovation had occurred at the Facility by obtaining a copy of Permit #BB-202401993 (for renovations to suite 2800 A) issued by the City of Atlanta on March 6, 2024. The permit was issued for commercial interior alterations including the selective removal of existing partitions, finishes and ceilings. The permit specifies Humphries and Company as the general contractor and Krevolin and Horst, LLC as the Facility owner. The renovation activity was not observed at the time of this inspection. The purpose of the inspection was to determine compliance with the CAA NESHAP Asbestos Standard and the regulations promulgated at 40 CFR Part 61, Subpart M, for the renovation activity conducted at the Facility. The EPA Region 4 CAA NESHAP asbestos program targets facilities for inspection located in the State of Georgia based on tips/complaints; permits issued on a local level; demolition and/or renovation/abatement notices sent to the State; and other relevant information concerning renovation/demolition activities at regulated facilities. This inspection was conducted based on the aforementioned permit for renovation activity at the Facility. Facility Information The Facility is a business office. He stated that he did not believe the permitted renovations had occurred as planned. He explained that renovations to the 35th floor had occurred that were conducted by C&W Contracting Services, Inc. Jansen Trentham provided the inspectors with contact information for Chris Costley with C&W Contracting Services, Inc. for them to obtain more information about the renovation of the Facility. Conclusion EPA will discuss the renovation activity with the owners/operators to determine if the requirements of the Asbestos NESHAP were met when conducting the renovations.
