Kehoe, Kettering Laboratory of Applied Physiology, College of Medicine, University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio. Dear Dr. Kehoe:- ' _ . -o. After receiving your letter of the l6th I turned it over to our General Superintendent, Mr. Fasig, and our Personnel Director, Mr. Blue, for study. Today we have discussed your recommendations and. also the results we have had from an interview with a local physician who we believe is competent to do the work that we have in mind. We. agree with your statement that there is no good object in considering physical examinations unless a competent doctor is available to do that work, ' As a result of our discussion we now have in mind specifying physical examinations covering the following work: 1. Chemical urinalysis. 2. Routine blood tests. .. 3. Kahn or Klein tests for venereal disease. L. Check heart and blood pressure. ' 5* Check lungs, including X-ray where desirable. 6. General checking for physical defects. . In addition to this we would consider having annual or periodic examination for all employees exposed to any recognized hazard. . It seems to us this would be quite a step in addition to what vie nave been doing in the past and probably would be as far as it would be advisable for us to go at this time. We appreciate your letter with its comprehensive treatment of the question and will also appreciate.any comments you may care to make in regard to the plan we have suggested above. ' DAK-REM F. J
