META ANALYSIS OF BENZENE EPIDEMIOLOGICAL DATA J Urbanus, on the phone, explained the project: the goal is more to understand why recent epidemiological studies of petroleum distribution workers reach different results than the earlier ones; it is not a metaanalysis for the time being. The Concawe science council already supports the project and a participation of 10 000 is sought from APA. Three bodies would be established to support the project: * A task force to prepare the detailed scope ofthe project and write the call for tender * A scientific advisory board * A liaison group, with representatives of the funding organisations The slides used for the presentation mention the names ofthe persons already foreseen as members of these different bodies, and J Urbanus explained shortly the CV of each person mentioned. Several names were mentioned as suitable additional persons to participate: Frank Christian, Mike Claydon, Richard Iron, Robert Schnyder etc. The list of the participants to each body is not fixed yet. The participation of a haematologist is considered worthwhile. J Urbanus intend to contact the potential contractants in June. It was agreed that APA would sponsor the project with 10 000 ; names of potential participants will be given; C Gilliard will act as the liaison agent. CGU BEN0000011
