Grumbles August 8, 1986 DOT HAZARDOUS MATERIALS AUDIT I am recommending that Vista develop an in-house DOT hazardous materials transportation audit program. This program would be similar in scope and design to the environmental and industrial hygiene audit programs. The purpose would be to assure compliance with DOT regulations and company procedures pertaining to the portions of the DOT regulations (49 CFR) governing: 1. Shipping papers 2. Product hazard classification 3. Placarding, marketing and labeling 4. Shipping containers and packages (emphasis on sample shipments) The responsibility for the above areas is spread throughout Vista groups, including manufacturing, accounting (COEDS), and S&T. The support of all groups will be necessary to implement an effective program. I would like to discuss the above with you in the near future to get your input on implementation.
