Having been thru a similar episode a few years back, we actually increased stack heights over initial estimates driven by the potential for increased emissions --w e need to be sure future max emissions are truly covered. --Trim Ta-W ei Fu Ta-Wei Fu ' 08/27/2001 11:34 PM To: cc: Subject: Stephen J Gissy/AE/DuPont@ DuPont, Oscar T Garza/AE/DuPont@ DuPont, Fred M Lenlz/SE/DuPont@ DuPont, Robbin Banerjee/AE/DuPont@ DuPont, Paul K Mathur/CL/DuPont@DuPont, David M Rurak/AE/DuPont@DuPont, Raymond C Butterworth/CL/DuPont@DuPont, John R Flynn/AE/DuPont@DuPont, Amy L Brown/AE/DuPont@DuPont, Thomas W M a hlb erg /S E /D u P o nt@ D u P o nt Robert F Pinchot/DEV/AE/DuPont@ DuPont, Chris E Shoop/AE/DuPont@ DuPont, Roger J Zipfel/AE/DuPont@ DuPont, Alvin H Gibson_Jr/CL/DuPont@ DuPont, Debbie J M ulro on ey/A E /D uP on t@ D uP on t ACTION ITEM S FROM APFO DISPERSION MODELLING In our Netmeeting today on the dispersion modeling, several cases were run based on the forecasted APFO consumption for year 2003 at W W . The modelling results indicate that we need to do the followings in order to meet the CEG requirement. 1. The APFO removal efficiency for the Fine Powder dryer air scrubbing system has to be at least 85%. (Being addressed by W 2 project) 2. The APFO removal efficiency for ail dryer vents from FEP and PFA areas has to be at least 93%. (Being pursued by 6-Sigm a/W 7 project) 3. The vent stacks of all the APFO scrubbing systems heed to be increased by 20-30 ft. ' The modelling results of concentration contour are significantly affected by the increasing stack height. W e need to start the work on evaluating options and cost for stack height increase as soon as possible in order to meet the timing for implementation during the April.shutdown in 2002. The stack height for the scrubbing system in the Fine Powder area can be added to the current W 2 project. The stack height for FEP and PFA areas need to be worked on separately. I would like to have your concurrence and guidance on the proposed action items below: 1.. Increase the stack height in the on-going W 2 project by 20-30 ft. (Include this in the current production design being pursued with JBEK Charleston) EID293592 2. Pursue feasibility evaluation and cost estimate to increase the stack height for FEP and PFA vents by at least 20ft. I will follow up with Al Gibson to find a economical and quick approach to get this work started with JBEK Charleston. , Your feedback are appreciated. Ta-W ei * EID293593
