It appears that some three years ago a lot of money was spent on improving the very bad dust conditions at the mill and this has lead to a much improved atmosphere in which the men now work. It is suggested that it is as yet too early to determine the benefits or otherwise of the improved conditions but they feel that they have gone as far as they can with the present knowledge and they are quite willing to look at. any further information that'may be forthcoming. Following my meeting with the Officers I am very, firmly of the opinion that your statement "Both Doctors are of opinion that the Company has not got a well developed conscience on the matter and feel very strongly that very urgent action is required" can hardly be justified by the facts. However, for ray own information I shall see Allan King and I shall also ask McNulty to send me more information about the measurement of dust counting in the asbestos industry referred to in the Addendum to his report,1959. It is not intended therefore that I should come over to Wittenoo in the immediate future* I shall certainly let you know if there is any change in plans and if you have any further information on the subject I shall be delighted to receive it.
