RED TOP m|stdrical file CQMMfo ' ecet/iicc/ -* 5564 `' ^ NdBeEticQiS- dr Ss] V RED TOP Concrete Finish is a mill-prepared plaster for leveling and texturing interior mono lithic concrete surfaces which have been treated with RED TOP Plaster Bond. It must be applied over RED TOP Plaster Bond. MIXING -- RED TOP Concrete Finish shall be mixed by machine, using clean water (approx. 5 gal. per bag of plaster) and equipment. Mix to a smooth plastic consistency and allow to soak a minimum of 30 minutes prior to use --remix to desired consistency. Note -- RED TOP Concrete Finish may be soaked up to one week prior to use if desired. FILL AND LEVELING COAT -- RED TOP Concrete Finish for fills shall be gauged on the board, using a sufficient quantity (approximately 20%) RED TOP gauging to provide early hardness so that leveling coat can be applied immediately after the filling operation. (Quick set gauging is recommended when the plasterer wants to double back immediately with a leveling coat.) The leveling coat should be gauged on the board, using sufficient material to provide early hardness -- (approximately 15% RED TOP slow set gauging.) Firmly grind a thin coat into the Plaster Bond and previously applied fills. Immediately double back with a "sweetening coat" which also serves to level the surface. Draw up the Finish taut and level by troweling, using water brush sparingly. SPRAY TEXTURE FINISH- RED TOP Concrete Finish for texturing shall be mixed neat, with clean water only, to a soupy con sistency. Do not add gauging plaster. Texturing shall be done with a hand texturing gun or small mechanical texturing machine having an orifice opening and air pressure sufficient to produce a fine, uniform texture. Spray all areas in a uniform pattern, crossing the surface in four directions (side to side, backward and forward) to obtain desired texture. ALTERNATE FINISHES SAND FLOAT FINISH --Sand Float Finish may be obtained by adding up to 20# of sand per bag of RED TOP Concrete Finish. For best results, gauge approximately 15% by weight, using RED TOP slow set gauging. Allow to stiffen prior to floating. SMOOTH TROWEL FINISH --For "sweetening coat," mix to fairly stiff consistency, using 15 to 20% slow set gauging. Apply and trowel in same manner as used with regular lime putty finish. CAUTION . . . Protect Plaster from moisture in storage. Allow RED TOP Concrete Finish to dry naturally, furnishing heat and ventilation in cold or slow drying weather. Protect other surfaces from overspray.
