'71 averaged 0.23 lbs./day (32 ppb). Cn August 19th two E.?.A. representatives (Hr. D. Cofara and Mr. ?. London) and a representative of the A.W.I.C. (Mr. J. L. Crockett, Jr.) visited the plant to collect several samples far P.C.B. analysis by the Southeast Water Labs (E.P.A.) in Athens, Ga. These samples were requested by the Justice Department in Washington. A ccnpcsits sazple was furnished to them (plant effluent on August 19th, P.C.B. - 196 P.P.B.) from the plant effluent. They ' also collected samples fran Chocaalocco Creek, both upstream and dewnstreaa. A meeting was conducted with these people and Monsanto's actions toward eliminating P.C.B. from the plant effluent was reviewed. It is not known at this time what will happen as a result of this sampling. Any information received fran these samples will be aomcumicatad to the appropriate persons when it is received. On August 19th two individuals froa tha J.7.A. (Xr. D. Cofara and Hr. T. London) and a representative of tha A.M.X.C. (Hr. J. L. Crockett. Jr.) visited tha plant to collect several samples for PCI analysis by tha South east Mater Labe (Z.P.A.) in Athens, Ga. These samples were requested by tha Justice Department in Mashiagton. A composite sample was furnished ta them (plant effluent on August 18th - P.C.l. 134 ppb) from the plant affluent. They also collected samples from Cwsceolocco Creak, both up- . stream and downstream. A meeting was conducted with these- people and Monsanto's actions toward eliminating P.C.l. from the plant affluent wae reviewed. Xt is not known at this time what will happen as a result of this sampling. Any information received from these settles will be comunieatad to the appropriate persona whan it is received. 4. Sampling has been completed for Part XX of tha Corps of Snginears permit (deadline October 1).
