D.L. APPLICATION
D 3 RIGID SUPPORTS
D 3.1 Rigid supports having been insulated at the same time as the 1st layer P.C. was applied the outer layer P.C. shall be fitted close to the support insulation.
3.1a Any void or crack between the O.L. covering and the ^support insulation shall be filled with 450 cement.
3.2 Figure 95 shows a cut away view of the 1st and O.L. line covering and the support insulation.

3-3 The ends of the I.L. and O.L. are staggered with the support insulation to eliminate a straight through crack.

El D.L. PREFORMED ELLS, TEES & LATERALS
E 1.1 D.L. preformed fitting covers are those having the ends of the I.L. (inner layer) and O.L. staggered to eliminate a possible straight through crack at the butt joint of the line covering and the fitting cover.
1.1a The following fitting covers are indexed as such: - S.R. ell cover (Fig. 32C) L.R. ell cover (Fig. 36A) B.W. tee cover (Fig. 45B) stove pipe ell cover (Fig. 42) and saddle on tee and lateral covers (Fig. 47A & B).
1.2 The O.L. line covering shall overlap the I.L. of the fitting cover and butt square to the O.L. of the cover.
1.3 The O.L. line covering shall be laced to the near end of the fitting cover and the lace wire or wires drawn tight.
1.4 The O.L. line covering shall be started on the other end or ends of the fitting cover.
1.5 The O.L. shall be laced to the fitting cover and the laces drawn tight.
1.6 Figures 96A,B & C shows the proper sequence of application of the O.L. line covering to a D.L. preformed S.R. ell cover.
