Scott and Dave -
Thank you for your time today to discuss the Navajo Generating Station. The Navajo Nation has been given a tremendous opportunity to expand its portfolio into the energy field. The Nation is enriched in natural resources and contains vast amounts in deposits of coal, helium, oil and natural gas. The attached letter outlines a unified voice asking DOI for assistance to explore all options in developing and utilizing these resources including the development of renewable energy.
Navajo Nation leadership is respectfully requesting for your assistance and partnership to develop and expand an energy portfolio with the Navajo Nation that will replace the possible loss of jobs due to the possible closure of NGS that can lead to the possible closure of the Kayenta Mine.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
