Hierbij nog een aantal kleine opmerkingen op de initieel voorgelegde versie, zie bijlage (mogelijks werd dit (deels) opgevangen door jullie later rondgestuurde versies ... maar kon niet meer worden afgetoetst bij de betrokkenen).
Nog als bijkomende toelichting meegeven: een akkoord tussen staten dat juridisch bindend is, IS een verdrag, hoe je het ook noemt. Dat is gewoon de definitie van een verdrag in internationaal recht.
In die zin zegt de comment bij dit punt misschien beter "we don't know yet how it will be called". We do know it will be a treaty...

Further, note that in this draft specific references are made to microplastics/INC Plastic, SPP, SAICM, ICCM5 and PFAS.

UNEP is organizing this summer a face-to-face Global Consultation on chemicals and waste Issues of Concern (loC). This event will take place on 11-12 July 2023 in Geneva in response to UNEA resolution 5/7 in which the ED was requested to seek views on priorities for further work, building on existing measures and initiatives, and on potential further international action on the 19 Issues of Concern discussed in the UNEP Assessment Report.
The resolution also requested the preparation of a summary analysis, taking into account the views received. A call for written inputs will be launched by UNEP at the end of May 2023 and a summary of views will be drafted for consideration at UNEA 6.
Please note that the EU/MS Lines To take on "priorities for further work and on potential further international action
on loC" will be coordinated by the WPIEI chemicals and synergies.

face Global Consultation and will be coordinating the BE position via the CCIM chemicals network.

UNEP is pleased to share with you an invitation letter to the Global Consultation on Chemicals and Waste Issues of Concern, to be held on 11-12 July 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland. The meeting will take place at the Centre International de Conference de Geneve (CICG).
Please find attached an invitation letter to the meeting and the corresponding registration form, which you
will need to fill out and send by email to

@un.org) at your earliest convenience and no later than 08 June 2023. Kindly submit also a
copy of the first page of your national passport with the registration form.
This invitation is circulated to the UNEP Secretariat of Governing Bodies; SAICM Secretariat, Minamata Secretariat and BRS secretariats for dissemination to focal points. For country representatives wishing to attend the Global Consultation, we kindly request that you coordinate your nominations for attendance. For all participants, coordination is welcomed due to space availability.
