Has Shah will request a formal, detailed proposal from Dr. Tamburo outlining the scope of the project, the milestones, and the costs involved. Dr. Shah also will request Dr. Tamburo to confirm the support of Zion, BFGoodrich, and the U.S. Armed Forces Institute of Pathology for the study. The detailed proposal will be based on a series of questions to be prepared by Jonathan Ramlow. These questions will be circulated to the Committee for comments before they are sent to Dr. Tamburo. Dr. Ramlow also will identify an expert to peer review the proposal. 2.0 Dr. Shah will send the draft protocol for the two-generation reproductive study received from Dow to Jim Barter and Jim Knaak for their comments. 3.0 Dr. Ramlow reviewed his discussion with Lillian Kelly of the California EPA. Cal-EPA is concerned that the risk estimate for the landfill site near a residential area is too conservative. The Agency would like to see any information the Committee may have to help clarify the risk assessment situation. Ms. Kelly will share the information with other Agency people at a public workshop to review the risk assessment report. The Committee will consider sending Dr. Richard Reitz to the public workshop. 4.0 Dr. Knaak will contact Dr. Reitz and discuss the possibility of describing the vinyl chloride risk assessment in different units in the manuscript. 5.0 The call adjourned at approximately 3:30 p.m. Subject to Approval ----- - Hasmukh C.
