Fart Sys. 9 We are pleased to advise you that the plans you submitted to the Department of Labor for an exhaust system to be in stalled or altered have been approved. One set of these plans is returned herewith. The above approval is granted subject to the following: 1. The blast gates or danpers must be permanently fastened by riveting or welding to pre vent any further adjustment after air flow in the system has been properly balanced. 2. Chemical air tests and air flow tests by the Division of Industrial Hygiene. Dependii on the results of the tests, modifications to the system, additional ventilation, or both,may be required. 3. It is understood that asbestos will not be used in this process after March 1974. When the system has been installed or altered, and is ready for test, kindly notify the office of the Division of Industrial Safety Service at the following address: New York State Department of Labor, Division of Industrial SafetyService, 65 Court St., Buffalo, N. Y. - Att: Mr. E. Derner, Supvr. This approval is based upon conformance to standards and requirements of the Labor Law and to the applicable Industrial Codes of the State of New York. You are responsible for determining whether emissions from the system meet the requirements of any local air pollution ordinances. !f any alterations of or additions to the above system ate required which change its operating characteristics, it will be necessary for you to submit revised plans to the Division of Industrial Hygiene for approval prior to making such alterations or additions. .
