The products used for testing were produced in the Ponca City pilot plant. The 550L and 600L were shown to be non-toxic by the oral and dermal routes and low orders of eye and skin irritation occurred. The sulfonates however, were shown to he toxic by the oral route of administration and a definitive "no death" dose was not found. The Toxicology Assessment committee has reviewed these results. It is the committee's recommendation that further testing be done on the sul fonates of 550L and 600L to obtain an Oral LD50 number. This testing would involve four dose levels for each product. Approximate cost would be $3,000. It is also recommended that we wait until the Lake Charles LAB plant is in production so that actual commercial products may be tested. If the above is approved by you we will take steps to initiate the testing as soon as commercial product is available. Thomas G.
