The patient is at the present time confined in one of the state institutions and I have been consulted in the medical-legal aspects of the matter. The laboratory tests made about a year after the patient left the brass foundry are as follows1 Urine: 0.,.545 milligrams per liter of lead. Feees: 1.555 milligrams per kilogram of lead. From these tests and from a history shelving the oatient had been a worker in a brass foundry, standing over an oven from which it would be possible to have inhaled lead vapors I made my diagnosis as stated above. The insurance company physician, I understand, has recently made a test in ?/hich T understand there were no evidences Gf lead in the urine. I understand they did not .check the feces at that time. I talked with Doctor Weber of the University of Kansas Medical School and ask him for the name of a -reputable laboratory in v/hose findings I coulu definitely place reliance and h e 'gave me your name. I also note from Johnstone's ''Occupational- .Diseases-" on page .244 your name is again mentioned in connection with this work.. Accordingly I would appreciate your advising me as to the cost of your making the following analysis for lead content. . Twenty-four hour urine speeiman. Basophilic aggregation test. Of course all samles will be taken here to your specifications and in containers which you may advise or supply'. The alloy that was smelted at the brass foundry contained the following: Conner Tin Zinc Lead 83%4$ 8% 5% This alloy was brought into the foundry in an alloyed state where it would be smelted into a liquid state and poured into sand moulds. It has now been about two years since the patient was employed in this place. .
