Florida__________________ At the time Mr. Shank investigated the tank repair work at Cecil Field Naval Air Station, he encountered a situation in which you may be interested. Gasoline was handled at this point by means of the "Aqua" system. The necessary valves to operate this system are located in underground pits with sliding covers. It is entirely possible that leakage has occurred at these valves resulting in the contamination of the concrete pit. This could very easily cause a significant lead hazard. A full report is to be submitted by Mr. Shank and we were advised that you will receive a copy of it. We are taking this means to bring the matter to your attention and will await further word from you as to whether or not you feel a full scale investigation of similar installations should be made. .
