Overall, the area was considered to be excellent. The following are specific items that need attention: Safety 1. Safety shower and eyebath signs need to be replaced throughout the area. Some are broken in half and some are missing. 2. Breathing air reel on the second deck of Dept. 29 needs plug for hose. 3. Safety chain needed on chain operated valve on 19T10-1 feed line. 4. Retention band broken on 972CT2-5 fan shroud. Need to check all bands as the fasteners are rusted. 5. Although causing no problem at this time, several plastic bags on fiveminute escape masks were found to be torn and in poor condition one at the cyanide tanks and one on the first deck of TBA. Need to check these bags and replace as needed. 6. Work on safety procedures was excellent. The safety check lists were completed. Safety meetings were well scheduled and very thorough. The safety logbook has been put to excellent use with timely and well written responses. Housekeeping 1. Need to check insulation as it is in bad shape in some places. 2. Shop area needs attention badly. Extreme amount of clutter. 3. Bird droppings in old reactor structure should be cleaned up if any personnel access is allowed. 4. Old SO2 building needs general cleanup. 5. Junk located between 910.30T2 and 19T2. 6. Acid storage cabinet at cyanide tanks should be relabeled as it is used for storage of many other materials.
