Since our last meeting in May, and with incredible support and assistance from you and your staffs, EPA successfully met a number of milestones as required under the law. June 22, 2017 marked not only the one-year anniversary of the TSCA amendments, but the finalization of three TSCA "Framework" rules (Prioritization, Risk Evaluation, and Active/lnactive Inventory), publication of guidance for persons interested in submitting draft risk evaluations to the EPA, and publication of the scope of risk evaluations for the first 10 chemicals. This could not have been achieved without your help, and, on behalf of the Agency, I'd like to extend my sincerest gratitude. However, much work on TSCA implementation remains to be done. We plan to schedule another meeting of our Senior Policy Group for September to give a more in-depth update on the next phase(s) of TSCA implementation - including preparations for stakeholder discussions on Pre-Prioritization, New Chemicals, and the Strategic Plan for Non-Animal Testing, ongoing risk evaluation and risk management activities, and more - and to hear from you on best practices moving forward. Stay tuned for a scheduling invite. In the interim, OCSPP is continuing to move forward on the development of Problem Formulation documents for the first 10 chemical risk evaluations. The Problem Formulation documents will refine the Scope documents, as an Sierra Club v. EPA 18cv3472 NDCA Tier 12 ED 002061E 00001549-00001 additional interim step, prior to publication of draft risk evaluations. EPA expects to publish these ten Problem Formulation documents in December 2017. We continue to welcome relevant hazard and exposure information on these chemicals from our interagency partners. Finally, if you have not already heard, I want to let you know that I have decided to retire from federal service at the end of August. I have enjoyed my 38 years at EPA immensely, and particularly the opportunity to work with smart, dedicated collegial people across the federal government, such as yourselves.
