Dear Mr. Wheeler:
With respect to your letter of July 27, I greatly appreciated the telephone call from Mr. Benignus. However, I will greatly appreciate further information as follows: copies of toxicity data including physical and chemical properties of both transformer and capacitor Inerteen which would be your Aroclor 1260, 1254 and 1242.
Mr. Benignus indicated in his telephone call
that you were evaluating Inerteen concentrations with the
use of the Willson chlorinated hydrocarbon equipment. I
will greatly appreciate detailed information concerning
the temperature of the furnace and the amount and . nature
of platinum used in the furnace for making these
determinations. A number of years ago the experiments
with this furnace, which was one of the first models, were
found it to be unsatisfactory. I am wondering what
information you have to indicate the use of this furnace
is adequately measuring the amount of Inerteen in the
atmosphere as well as furnace temperature and flow rate, of
air through the furnace, amount and shape of platinum
within the furnace.

Mr. Benignus stated that the maximum allowable concentration for either of these Aroclors should not exceed about 3 milligrams of Aroclor per guide meter of air. Does this apply to any of the 3 Aroclors indicated. Any additiional information that will be of value to me in association with Aroclor such as skin reaction data will be greatly appreciated.
